Resolving Conflict

Resolving Differences

“An eye for an eye and we all go blind.”Gandhi

Have you ever been in a conflict situation that kept you awake at night?  Made you uncomfortable when dealing with someone at work?  Tired of going along to get along and then all too often coming out on the short end of that thinking?  If you wonder “There must be a better way!” the good news is that there is.

Don’t go in unprepared – learn and practice research based conflict skills. Start here…

Successful leaders need to deal with conflict.  If they don’t, the bottom line will be hurt and people will be lost. To paraphrase William Wrigley Jr., “When two people in business always agree, one of them is unnecessary!”  However, fear of conflict is very common and has been identified by Patrick Lencioni as the ‘2nd dysfunction’ of a team in his book “The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team”. So navigating conflict is an important skill set for a leader.  You can’t just hand it off for someone else to handle, at least not without consequences. Some people may say they like conflict but that doesn’t mean they are good at it!
